Step into the exhibit for a special hands-on encounter with one of our beautiful wombats. You’ll have the chance to pat, feed, cuddle, and even hold the wombat while our team helps capture the moment on your phone or camera. It’s a rare and memorable experience that brings you closer to one of Australia’s most iconic native animals.
What’s Included?
- Enter the wombat exhibit – Enjoy a close-up experience inside the enclosure with one of our resident wombats
- Pat and feed the wombat – Get hands-on as you offer some of their favourite treats and enjoy gentle interaction
- Cuddle and hold the wombat – Guests will have the chance to sit down for a special photo moment with the wombat placed carefully on their lap by a keeper
- Keeper guidance throughout – Our experienced team will lead the session, share interesting facts, and make sure everyone feels comfortable
- Photos on your device – Our staff can take photos on your phone or camera so you can take the memory home with you
Wombat Encounter Pricing:
- $140 for 1 person (online booking including park entry)
- $240 for 2 people (online booking including park entry)
- Times: Once per day at 3.15pm
- Max 2 people per encounter
- 10-15 minutes
- Ages 10+
- Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult, who may remain outside the exhibit
- Enclosed footwear required
- General admission to Amazement Farm & Fun Park is not included and must be purchased separately.
What to Expect During Your Encounter
Your experience begins with an introduction from one of our keepers, who will share fun facts about wombats and explain what makes them so special. You’ll then receive a short safety and cleanliness briefing before entering the exhibit.
Once inside, you’ll get to hand-feed the wombat some of its favourite treats, enjoy gentle pats, and spend time getting to know this amazing animal. For a special photo opportunity, the keeper will guide you into position and gently place the wombat on your lap while they take photos on your phone or camera.

- Threatened species – Southern Hairy-Nosed Wombats are a threatened species and play an important role in Australia’s native wildlife
- Rescue animals – Our wombats are rescued and rehabilitated animals that could not be returned to the wild
- Wildlife ambassadors – They now help educate guests and raise awareness for their wild cousins through these close-up encounters
