Amazement is a totally unique attraction for coastal New South Wales! It is designed to provide a welcoming and attractive environment where families can:
Explore & discover mazes;
Meet a wide range of farm animals up close;
Set-up a delicious picnic & have a barbecue;
Play and grow together in an enjoyable & safe natural environment.
Located just 5 kilometres from Westfield Tuggerah in the picturesque Yarramalong Valley, it presents families with an affordable leisure alternative to beaches and shopping centres.
Having transformed our 16 acre rural property from open paddocks into a park we decided to create a maze as a flagship attraction for the Central Coast. To trial the concept we enlisted the help of Adrian Fisher, internationally recognised as the world's leading maze designer. Based in the UK, he has set six Guinness world records and created over 500 mazes in 23 countries - including one for the Beijing Olympics.
The result was our Giant Ned Kelly Maize Maze. It was extremely popular with young families and the highly positive reaction we received has encouraged us to create a year-round indoor/outdoor leisure environment.
Since then we have continued to create Giant Summer Mazes (Giant acoustic guitar with Trivia Trail & Lost in Space Rocket Maze with informative celestial trivia). We have also continued to develop other attractions on the property and now it hosts several mazes, a games courtyard, a gourmet cafe, petting zoo & a wild wood walk.
The park was designed and developed by Gennie & Peter Engebretsen who made it their mission to develop a beautiful space on the NSW Central Coast for families to be able to have an special outdoor experience. Peter's background was principally in advertising, corporate events and communications whilst Gennie has enjoyed a remarkable acting career in film & television in Australia and the UK. You may have seen or heard her in films such as Muriel's Wedding, Babe & James Bond: For Your Eyes Only, as well as appearing in Home & Away, Stingers, All Saints & The Bill, amognst many other roles. You can find out more about Gennie by visiting www.gennienevinson.com.
Their experience in the performing arts helped them to develop and communicate the creative ideas that have been implemented at Amazement. Since Peter's passing in May 2011, a memorial maze, designed by prominent artist & friend Mike Worrall, has been built to commemorate his memory. Gennie & Team Amazement continue to help kids and their parents have a wonderful experience, developing a business that helps to build the community & families.
